Mark’s extensive experience in a wide range of insurance and employment matters in jurisdictions across the country has provided his clients with confidence that he can handle whatever they send his way.
Mark focuses his multi-faceted practice on defending complex professional liability, products liability, construction, trucking, property, municipal liability, and employment actions. He provides robust defense representation for physicians and healthcare providers, attorneys, and other professionals facing claims of malpractice and malfeasance. Throughout his career, Mark has served as lead counsel in significant cases involving catastrophic losses against the top trial attorneys in Chicago and over 35 states.
Additionally, Mark has represented employers in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in matters involving employment discrimination, employment contracts, and non-compete and restrictive covenant litigation. Mark also counsels excess carriers and serves as monitoring counsel in high exposure cases. In this capacity, he skillfully advocates for his excess insurer clients in mediations and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Mark’s practice also includes representing insurance companies in nationwide multimillion-dollar commercial disputes involving first-party property losses. He counsels insurers regarding coverage issues arising from natural disasters and draws upon his extensive litigation experience to defend insurers in first-party property litigation and arbitration proceedings.
Primary and excess carriers trust Mark’s counsel in complex insurance coverage disputes and in the coverage opinions he provides concerning general liability, professional liability and employment practices liability matters. Mark’s coverage litigation experience includes defending insurers against contentious bad faith and extra-contractual liability claims.
